Insurance sales / Career questions. I need advice?

February 27th, 2010

Hi. I am becoming an insurance sales agent. I am concerned because every company promises the world, and none of them really talk about how to get people to ask for what you are offering.

There are lead companies, but they all promise the world too. Since more than half of what I am being shown is non-sense, is there anyone who can point me in the right direction?

Are there any newer agents that have been successful? And if so, can you share with me what you did to make people want your services?

Do you have anything of value that entices people? Something! I really dont want to feel like I am pulling teeth to get people’s business.

Thanks so much.

This question has been asked many times at www.insurance-forums.net there is an agent section with a lot of information to find the best ways to get prospecting and product training. Come on by,

When people claim that "less government regulation" is the key to health care reform…?

February 27th, 2010

What do they think about government regulations that prevent companies from dropping sick patients simply for costing too much? Shouldn’t these regulations be INCREASED? How can anyone possibly think that insurance companies should be allowed to do this?

Don’t get me wrong, I like Capitilism as much as anyone. But unchecked Capitalism is just as bad is Socialism, as it leads to things like this:
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-insure9nov09,0,3065397,full.story?coll=la-home-center

Less government regulation would just lead Insurance comapnies to do anything they cna do to get profits, which often times includes letting people die.

We are touched daily over and over again by food and medical safety regulations. Would anybody not mind if because of manufacturing error there was accidentally cyanide instead of aspirin in those pills? Would it bring back your family if you had to sue the company? What if they won, because there is no legal requirement to make sure that medications are safe or effective?

Lobbyists don’t need 3 days to read the bill they wrote themselves. That is ridiculous.∠°)

Did you know Obama’s Dog & Pony show with the doctors was a production complete with white coat costumes?

February 27th, 2010

provided by the White house?

That show was a production of Doctors for America, which is Doctors for Obama, the same exact group with a name change. This group was put together by the Communist Center for American Progress, which was started by the Belgian Billionaire criminal George Soros. The same one who Obama just gave 2 billion to his Brazilian Company to drill for Offshore Oil, while not allowing our companies to do it.

The whole production was to give a false visual impression that doctors are behind Obama, while 93% oppose government take over and high numbers also are against the specific reforms pushed by the Obama administration. Similarly high numbers are FOR tort reform to make the law uniform with standards for most other law suits where loser may be forced to pay the winners legal costs if their side is significantly responsible for the suit, as in if the outcome should be obvious, frivolous law suits by plaintiffs, and the defendant attempting to posture against the plaintiff by forcing the build up of legal expenses against them.

Democrats get big money off the medical tort racket, so they are not about to mess with that just to help out their constituents and bring down medical costs and ease the stupid excessive defensive medicine that doctors find themselves needing to practice in case they are sued.

Sure most people want reform, who doesn’t? But the fact is that most people don’t want what Obama really wants, what 70% of the democrats really want, and what they will push in committee after a bill is passed to change it to what they want. They have already proven to be deceptive and try to push stuff past the people they won’t like by getting bills passed with no availability to read them.

In my opinion there is no chance these same deceptive congressmen and president will not attempt to push through what they know most of the people absolutely unequivocally hate as far as changes to health care and government control or steps set to lead strait to government control through the manipulative pushing out of private insurance companies with tax payer funded subsidies to government insurance plans and options. They already did it in a knee jerk with the Auto companies as if it were just an automatic thing and skewing competition unfairly was just standard operating practice. These are the same people, what makes you think they wouldn’t do what they wanted this time?

We can’t trust them to do what the people want. What is more, we can trust them to try to do what they want regardless of what most people think. We can trust them to try to slip it though without our knowing. We can trust them to try to do whatever they want against our will. We can trust them to work in their own best interests, against We The People. We can trust them to try anything to circumvent our constitution, because they already have, and Obama has expressed that desire many times.

We can trust the government only to try to take more power and strip the people of theirs, which is really what all the issues of today boil down to. It’s not about Health Care any more than the Porkulus was about stimulus. It’s all about them gaining power and control to themselves, at the expense of We The People who by right own it.

They are polling on what the plan isn’t and will never be, and saying people are for the Health Care Reform lol, what a CROCK!

Most people are for reforms, fact is that almost all of those people for reforms are for the reforms republicans have been attempting to get for years. Tort reform, the ability to compete cross state lines for insurance, the ability for Medicare and Medicaid to make companies compete for the best prices on equipment and services, so they don’t rent (true story) oxigen tanks that cost $600 for $7000, so they don’t pay 400% on other things, that would save billions but when Bush tried to do it, it was blocked by about all democrats and a few republicans because of the donations they get from those businesses. Billing reform is another very popular one (wish the republicans would push harder for that).

What people don’t want by a large majority is Government run health care. Any option for that is going to morph into competition killing subsidies we will have to pay for to drive private insurance co’s out of business.

What Obama is doing is tailoring the message to what people want to hear. Unfortunately, as we have seen him do many times now, what they get in bill form will not resemble what Obama said they would get. That is the cold hard fact. None of what he is saying does he plan to deliver, he is only trying to deliver support on an idea, then he will swap it and call the new atrocity by the same name.

Anyone who hasn’t figured that out by now is very thick, or not observant at all, blind maybe.
