Will the liberal impulse to remove the consequences of reality for our citizens lead to an end of U.S. success?
Two Examples:
Example 1
————————–
In the 1970s & 80s many American labor unions (most notably UAW) tried to win a guarantee of wage increases that were immune to market fluctuations. Around that same time, Toyota and Honda plants offered profit sharing (i.e. wage increases that were tied to success and failure of business).
The strategy by the Union ultimately led to the continued marginalization of the whole American auto industry as the fixed cost from the wage increases eventually made the business model unsustainable.
——————————
Example 2
———————–
Over the early part of this decade liberals pressured banks to give mortgages and loans to people that banks were evaluating as bad risks. At the end of last year, the banks initial assumptions proved correct and there was a complete collapse of all markets that were contaminated by this toxic credit.
—————————–
Today liberals are pursuing a plan that will pressure healthcare insurance companies to provide service to people deemed to have pre-existing conditions that indicate the cost of their care will be prohibitively higher than most other consumers. But the plan congress is pursuing is to force these providers to spread the cost, pushing the burden over on to those who are satisfied with their current insurance. The expectation is that added cost will force all existing insurance customers over to a cheaper tax-subsidized plan run by the government. Once governemnt becomes a monopoly we will be stuck with an inferior single-payer healthcare plan that will have government dictating how much doctors can earn, how much a scientist who creates a new wonder drug will earn, and what services any particular consumer is eligible for.
Is the era of American Exceptionalism over? Will we be pressured by reckless politicians into being a second tier nation?
liberals have never understood reality.
when I meet normal people, I say, "hello or HI"
when I meet a liberal I say, "Hey there, whats happening on the other side of reality?"
they seem to understand that and then go into a 10 minute delusional synopsis of their days events.

Your information is incorrect and not supported by fact, truth, logic and reality. I used to be like that, but now I just think and repeat what I am told to by Fox News, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity. I am a TRUE PATRIOTIC CONservative!

hm, you mean like the reality of wmd? I believe that your first example takes only a narrow view of the whole sordid picture. You dont mention the fatcat auto executives riding their private jets to meetings to make sure that the fuel and safety and quality standards were kept low by their cronies in washington, and im not pointing fingers right at the cons. Id say that churning out a low quality junker didnt do the business model much good, granted that the high prices caused by the unions didnt help. dont play silly, cons have had as much power with the last administrations and as much blame as anyone.

A terrific question. Yes. History demonstrates with utter clarity the reasons why the Roman Empire fell.

Those who are satisfied with their health insurance are either well employed- by companies that assume responsibility for group coverage (much less costly)- or have more than enough money to avoid worrying about their coverage while a huge percentage of Americans cannot even begin to afford their own, individual insurance. OK, so you may be well off- why then let everyone else basically die off who obviously cannot afford it no matter how hard they work? This is the conservative conscience in action yet again.

What you are relating are lies based on a right wing effort to cover up the money they have stolen from you, your family, and your retirements. There are no natural consequences in an artificial economy, which is what every economy is. Everything is constructed to favor some and to disadvantage others. Every change in law shifts that favor at least slightly from one group to another.
Labor unions have been responsible for higher standards of living for working people across the board, members or not. The desire to impoverish working people has led to a shrinkage of the consumer market, as there are fewer people than ever who can afford to buy the products and services that rich people want to profit from.
Over the early part of this decade, neocons pressured the Bush administration to eliminate regulations and permit banks to make obviously risky mortgage loans to unsophisticated borrowers. The "consequence" of having been ripped off should not be a rich person getting richer by having stolen everything you own.
The last part is very confused. You have no idea what you are trying to express, so it is impossible to respond to. It looks like you have attempted to relate several unrelated talking points from some anonymous email. But it is clear you support an increase in poverty and a transfer of more wealth from the working class to the rich.
The Roman Empire fell because of stupidity resulting from generations of drinking from and storing beverages in containers that were made of lead. ∠°)

Yes, but it’s not irreversible. Maybe, just maybe, the hard choices & actions will be made. But not from anyone in office now. That’s for sure.
