Does anyone sell life insurance from home? (not with Primerica)?

Does anyone sell life insurance from home and make at least $1,000 a month profit? Do you sell online, make appointments and meet face to face or have a office at home? Do you work for a company that pushes you to sign up others to sell? How do you get your leads?
I would like to get my licenses to sell life insurance and eventually get licenses for car insurance, but is it realistic to try this business from home?

If you look at this logically, if you are at home, you are not going to sell. People are not going to come to you to buy life insurance and no one like buying over the phone. People want face to face contact and you have to initiate first contact. My strategy is not to sell life insurance to people and try to convince or push them to buy it. My strategy is to educate families about life insurance and they will make the decision to buy. Knowledge is powerful and when people understand how life insurance works and what its for, they can make the right decision on whether they need it or not.

When I help families, I always get referrals from them. If you do the right job for your clients, they will refer people to you. How I get referrals is by asking who they know lives in the area. Who they know could use this information?

My company doesn’t push me to sell. They use compassion and real life stories to get me motivated to go out there to see more families. I work for a financial service company and what I do for families has change many lives for the better.

Is this a hard insurance sales position? You contact leads to set up an appointment and meet them?

I hear of some company where they get leads and you as a sales person doesn’t have to do the cold calling. You contact those leads and set up an appointment. The leads you get are people who supposely filled out a form that shows interest. I think if it was this easy why hire people to do cold calling and other people to meet up people at their homes.

Let’s get it straight about so-called sales leads; they’re not! The respondents are seldom interested in buying life insurance and the ones that are interested are often times in poor health so they have a hard time qualifying for affordable rates. In my many years of sales experience those lists hardly, if ever. pay off. And, typically, you meet the same rude people on the telephone "pre-qualified" list that you would encounter if you made cold calls at supper time. You are better spending time and money elsewhere.
By the way, there are many good insurance companies so look for the ones that will help you get off to a good start in your career and a good start is not initiated by lists like the ones you mentioned.

~~Probably the best way to grow is to join the Chamber of Commerce. For a small fee annually, you can start joining mixers and other efforts the Chamber works on to help promote local business. Networking is your best source of growth for business and would work very well with insurance offices.

Other suggestions would be to join any local groups in your area, donating your time makes you visible and gives you more chances for networking, and meeting new clients, as well as helping your community.~~
